The Discipline is known as English Riding primarily for the use of a Saddle known as the English Saddle and Tack. Although there are many different styles and disciplines of English Tack, most fall under the following tack catagories: Dressage tack, General English tack, Hunters tack, Jumpers tack, Three Day Eventing tack, Polo tack, Hunt tack and the Cavalry Disciplines tack.
As the Horse progresses through its development, it requires progress in it's tack, mainly english bridle and english bits. There are different varients of English Bridle. However, most fall into the following Bridle catagories: Snaffle, Flash, Drop Noseband and Figure 8 Bridle. From these stem varients which are adaptable to the needs of an English Horse for the particular Discipline and Level.

Snaffle Bridle & Tack
The Snaffle Bridle is the most common of the Bridles. The Standard Caveson can be worn loose or tight fitting to assist in keeping the horses mouth shut in the mid section of the jaw. The following covers the most popular styles of English Snaffle Bridle available: Flat English Bridle, Round Raised English Bridle, Square Raised Bridle, Round Raised and Square Raised Fancy Stitched Bridle, Padded round raised or square raised Bridle with or without the Fancy Stitching.

Flash Bridle & Tack
The Flash Snaffle Bridle is also as common as the Standard Snaffle Bridle. The difference is the flash strap attachment to the Caveson wich allows the added strap placement in front of the bit for keeping the horses mouth closed. This strap attachment to the Caveson allows for the noseband to be secured tightly. Flash Bridles are also available in Flat, Round Raised, Padded, Square Raised and Fancy Stitched Options. Drop Noseband Bridle & Tack
The Drop Noseband Bridle is also a Snaffle Bridle, however there is the absence of the Caveson. The Drop Noseband is a thinner noseband that drops in front of the bit and only keeps the horses mouth closed at the front directly behind the chin. This relieves the pressure applied by Crank Nosebands and English Standard Caveson Nosebands for those horses which are sensative to pressure being applied to the mid jaw area, yet require assistance in keeping their mouth closed.

Figure 8 Bridle & Tack
The Figure 8 Bridle is commonly used in Riding Disciplines Such as Three Day Eventing, Hunters, Jumpers and at times even in Disciplines such as Polo and the Hunt. The figure 8 bridles distributes the pressure on top of the nose and in two points beneath the chin. Distribution of pressure provides not only greater presence of the bridle but also the contacts with the Jaw. These bridle are often available in Flat, Round Raised, Square Raised, Fancy Stitched or plain bridle.
